WE DON’T WANT TO LIVE IN THE ZOO
By Hanley/Oliver
One day we all went to the zoo
Saw the lion and the kangaroo
One little monkey turned her bum
And did a rude thing with her little pink thumb
We don’t want to live in the zoo
We don’t want to live in the zoo
We don’t want to live in the zoo
And I wouldn’t either, would you?
We went and played for the elephants
And they went into a jungle dance
They raised their trunks and squirted air
And said, “Please will you take us away from here”
The peacocks danced so fine and proud
They soon attracted quite a crowd
They turned their backs to the people there
All we could see was bums all bare
We went and saw the sad old lion
Sittin’ in his cage all day and cryin’
He’s not allowed to run and play
He just sits there waitin’ for the judgment day
The big giraffe was lookin’ right down
Wearing his great big gruffy old frown
I guess he’s sad because he can see
All his jungle friends in their misery
